Each lesson helps with what to say and when to introduce concepts. There is some highlighting in the first section on how to use the book. Otherwise, it was what I (the mom/teacher) used.

Spelling 6 by Sound and Structure, TM and ST
Both books included are the Student Text and Teacher’s Manual for Rod and Staff’s Spelling for 6th grade. R & S has a great system for teaching spelling that we used all the way through 6th grade. It is clear, easy-to-follow, and in-depth. Each lesson has three parts: Sounds and Letters, Using Your Words, and Building Words. All of the words are put in dictionary form in the back of the book for easy-to-locate dictionary entries. I love how a Bible verse is used with a spelling word from that week’s lesson. The Teacher’s Manual includes test sentences for each of the spelling words and answers to the questions in the student book.

Rod and Staff’s English Teacher’s Manual for 5th grade provides help to Mom/Teacher to do oral drills and have answers and explanations of problems in the student text.
