Hungry Planet: What the World Eats
Amazing resource! Simply Charlotte Mason relies heavily on this book in the history and geography curriculum. It is somewhat outdated, but still very useful for comparing the wonderful variety in socioeconomic realities and cultures around the world through looking at what different people eat! My kids and I absolutely loved this book. Full of color photos. Even if you don’t do Simply Charlotte Mason, this is a wonderful cultural resource!

Material World: A Global Family Portrait
This is a GREAT resource! It is used heavily in Simply Charlotte Mason with history and geography. It is somewhat dated but the core value remains intact of realizing how amazingly different possessions are around the world from culture to culture and socioeconomically. It’s a fascinating book and well worth exploring with or without a related curriculum! I actually kind of hate to part with it, but my kids rarely look at it any more and someone else can get a lot of use from it!
